Pathfinder’s programs reflect the organization’s belief that access to reproductive health and family planning services is a basic human right. Pathfinders innovative programs in reproductive health and family planning have expanded to integrate the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, and care for women suffering from complications of unsafe abortions. Pathfinder works to halt the spread of HIV/AIDS, to provide care to women suffering from the complications of unsafe abortion, and to advocate for sound reproductive health policies in the U.S. Pathfinder International provides women, men, and adolescents throughout the developing world with access to quality family planning and reproductive health information and services. Pathfinder International believes that reproductive health is a basic human right. Pathfinder International, a non-profit organization, was originally incorporated as The Pathfinder Fund in 1957. Pathfinder International is a U.S.-based private voluntary organization that provides technical and financial support to reproductive health projects in 22 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Pathfinder supports the elimination of gender discrimination and inequality through gender asynchronous and gender-transformative approaches.Issue Areas: Family Planning, Gender Equality, HIV/AIDS, Law and Policy Reform, Women's Health, Women's Rights, Women's Safety from Violence Pathfinder uses social and behavior change approaches to eliminate stigma for rights-based health and support quality family planning for all through community dialogues, target group discussions, and digital platforms. Pathfinder accelerates universal, right-based, and equitable access to quality, integrated HIV prevention, care, and treatment services. Pathfinder promotes innovative approaches and adoption of new technologies to increase the number of young people able to make healthy decisions, exercise their rights, and experience positive sexual and reproductive health outcomes. And, Pathfinder strengthens national and sub-national family planning programs to reduce inequitable access and unmet need for contraception. Pathfinder works to incorporate adolescent-friendly service delivery into existing sexual and reproductive health services, including early entry points, such as HPV vaccination.
